Off-day

March 4, 2008

Today was an off-day. It did not start too bad with really good weather but during the morning we discovered that Jingles had developed a limp in his left back-leg. It’s very apparent when he has been sleeping. So, now what? We were really worried. As it did not seem to get any better we gave the vet a ring at about 3pm and were asked to come over at 5:30pm.

Upon examination the vet could not find anything disturbing but for a slightly swollen left knee. Also, during the thorough examination Jingles did not whimper at all, which was interpreted as a good sign. According to the vet it would have probably been a twitch he got during the morning walk. Puppies tend to be very energetic when going about on their walks. We were given some anti-inflammatory drugs and told to keep him inside as much as possible (quite a challenge for “Mr. Lifewire”) and not to worry too much. However the kind words, it really makes you sad seeing the little man struggling about with one bad leg…
